Propfair in Dee Why
Updated: Jul 7, 2019
Another year is over and now it’s time for photographer’s second “Christmas”... The prop fair in Dee Why, Sydney. For those of you, who are not sure, what I am talking about, the prop fair is an annual event here in the Northern Beaches where the prop makers from and baby photographers from all around Australia get together and do some business.
Big opportunity for baby and maternity photographers
It was a fantastic opportunity for vendors to present their broad selection of photography products and accessories such as baby clothes, headbands, bowls, rompers, blankets and even maternity dresses or photography background walls. In addition, the visitors could get more information and take a closer look at various photo services including printing and photo framing.
Many prop makers and photographers had not only a chance to meet in person to chat about what they enjoy doing, but also to exchange contact details and agree on prosperous business cooperation. The prop fair program also accommodated some photography workshops hosted by famous and successful photographers.
I joined the workshop with Dewdrops Photography by Amy McDaniel and it was focused on newborn beanbag workflow. Amy showed us some great moves and told us about techniques for the best clicks. Even though the baby was unsettled in the beginning, Amy coped with it with noble skills and I am glad I could meet her face-to-face and learn new things from her.
